I am Jewel Sharee' James. A media and marketing professional passionate about building a positive narrative for others. I grew up in a home where media was heavily valued. My earliest milestones were captured on camera or documented through writing. My personal passion for media developed throughout my teenage years. I created and edited viral videos to promote natural beauty. The success of these videos helped me realize the career path I wanted to take. One of my career goals is to tear down negative stereotypes in the advertising and marketing industry. I took a step towards this goal in 2022 when I enrolled at Winthrop University to pursue a degree in Integrated Marketing Communication. Throughout my time at Winthrop, I put my career goal into practice. I served as the Public Relations Chair for Winthrop's Council of Student Leaders (now SGA)and aimed to rebrand the organization as more approachable to students. I created a strategic plan for local non-profits to increase their reach and engagement. I interned with the City of Columbia Police Department in the marketing department, showcasing the positive things the department does within the community. I hope to continue practicing my career goal after graduating in May 2026.
